XMAS Gift - Early Warning for Little Fat Rocket Man

Starfish Prime Nuclear Bomb Blast 1962 - The test revealed the destructive impact of the Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) produced by a nuclear explosion.

As Democrats, FDR was no shrinking violet, nor was HST.  Both Roosevelt and Truman reasoned that something had to be done to reign in Japan's campaign of terror and conquest. So in 1944, eleven years after her family fled Nazi Germany, a 23-year-old chemist Lilli Hornig found herself among European-born scientists assembled in Los Alamos, NM, to help develop a nuclear bomb.

From the Sandia Mountains 110 miles away, Lilli witnessed the first nuclear test blast on July 16, 1945. She recalled, "boiling clouds and color--vivid colors like violet, purple, orange, yellow, red, just everything."

Later, she had mixed feelings about the nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945. So here now is the real bombshell statement in Lilli Hornigs' 2015 interview, at age 94: "It might have been better", she argued, "for the U.S. to have arranged a demonstration of the bomb's destructive power to try to bring the Japanese to the peace table." ..."But big boys like big toys!"

So, if history is any indicator, it has been historically proven that the U.S. not only has the capabilities and means to deliver nuclear destruction, it has the will to follow through decisively to win.

Lilli Hornig died  November 17, 2017 at the age of 96 and left a legacy of peace through strength. Will North Korea repeat this scenario themselves?  If another ICBM shoots into the skies, it may be their last one before their total destruction.
