The military in June, 2010 unveiled what is one 'nasty-ass' gun. Called the XM25, this super deadly hand weapon can annihilate people behind walls or trenches. This video is four years old, so it is showing now what weaponery is currently being deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Thank God that the U.S. military has not forgotten its duty to serve our country and preserve our position as the best military in the world unlike like our President. This new development in warfare, however, opens a 'Pandora's box' to a 'magic genie' that cannot be put back into the bottle. Eventually, the bad guys can get their hands on them too. However, whatever the US military releases to the public media, there are still hundreds of weapons classified. You can count on the upgrades of this weapon are still classified.
Here's a scary scenario, what if the good guys are bad guys too? Say, huh? I mean, what if our own Homeland Security forces utilize these weapons against its own citizenry to contain riots and civil unrest?--just a thought to ponder while rejoicing about counter-terrorism weaponry.
PhysOrg reports -- "The US Army tested the high-tech XM25 airburst grenade launcher in summer, 2010 in Afghanistan, unleashing a weapon that veterans predict could be a game-changing advantage in the war. The XM25 can fire 25mm rounds that explode at any distance set by a soldier, effective at a range of up to 700 m. Because the 14-pound, $25,000 gun can fire rounds in just seconds, it could replace the need to call in fire missions, artillery or air strikes in some situations, which can take anywhere from several minutes to an hour to arrive."
It's ultimately immediate firepower at the squad level to takeover, disengage enemy forces and control combat positions with a minimum loss of lives, destruction of property and cost savings rather than deploying more expensive close-air support aircraft, personnel and excessive weapons ordinance. The American citizen taxpayer is finally getting 'More Bang for their Buck!'
