ISIL - YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

The Real Threat from ISIL

By Ronald Kessler

The current debate over the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant misses the real threat: a weapons of mass destruction attack that would cause massive casualties.

In interviews for my book "The Secrets of the FBI," Robert S. Mueller III told me when he was FBI director [September 4, 2001 - September 4, 2013] that what keeps him awake at night is the possibility of a terrorist attack using radiological biological, or chemical weapons that would wipe out millions of Americans in cities like New York and Washington.

Given that ISIL has more than $1 billion in cash and additional millions coming in from oil revenue every week, it would be easy for the terrorist group to buy off an expert who could unleash such an attack within the next month or two. Since ISIL members include Americans with U.S. passports, bringing such weapons into this country would be no problem at all.

  • "The biggest threat comes from individuals who have had some association with the United States, understand the United States, can move either individually or with others relatively freely into the United States and within the United States," Mueller has told me.

Thus, those who say ISIL poses no immediate threat to the homeland because no credible plot has yet been detected or would only shoot up some people in a shopping mall or knock down a building are as wrong as those who thought before 9/11 that al Qaeda consisted of a bunch of cavemen who could never launch a major attack on the U.S.

  • Moreover, because of laxness and corner cutting by Secret Service management exposed in my book The First Family Detail, the agency has not kept up to date with the latest technology for detecting WMD or preventing an attack on the White House. Having ignored the ISIL threat for nearly a year as it obviously gained momentum, President Obama could tragically wind up being its victims.

Even a WMD attack that does not kill a great number of people would have a crushing psychological impact.

"A singular lone wolf individual can do things in the dark of the night with access to a laboratory with low quantities of material and could hurt a few people but create a devastating effect on the American psyche," according to Dr. Vahid Majidi, who was the FBI’s assistant director in charge of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate.

  • Another "huge" potential threat, says Arthur M. "Art" Cummings II, who headed FBI counterterrorism and counterintelligence investigations, is the explosion by terrorists of a nuclear weapon high in the atmosphere to unleash an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). The electromagnetic pulse generated by the blast would fry all electronics in North America. Because almost everything we need to survive relies on microchips—computers, financial records, furnaces, refrigerators, police dispatchers, hospitals, telephones, cars, trains, trucks, and planes—such a blast would send America back to the 1300s.

In the event of an EMP attack, the electrical power grid would be destroyed because its computers would be inoperative. Transformers critical to it would take years to replace. The vast majority of Americans would die from starvation or disease or would freeze to death, according to Dr. William Graham, who was chairman of the bipartisan congressional Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from EMP Attack. And those exposed to biological, radiological, or chemical weapons would die horrible deaths.

  • The Obama administration has said it will take three years to wipe out ISIL In the meantime, we could all become its victims. As long as ISIL exists, the question is not whether but when cataclysmic attacks by the barbaric group on the U.S. homeland will occur.

Boston Marathon - Leaving it All up to You

Shepard Smith, a news anchor on Fox News, was interviewing Senator Saxby Chambliss, R - Georgia, discussing how the public should react to these horrible Boston Marathon Bombings.  After nibbling all around the edges of the obvious, Shepard Smith finally took the big bite of the apple and concluded, "Well, I think today we simply can't expect total terrorist protection from our police force or security officers and must accept individual risks in order to lead our own lives normally." (Paraphrased quote)  Well said loud and clear!

Former congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) went on MSNBC to react to the bombing at the Boston Marathon. In a shameless moment of advocacy, Frank used the tragedy to make a political statement about revenue and the size of government agencies we need to protect and run our lives.

During the MSNBC interview anchor Thomas Roberts actually called Frank out for his despicable attempt to politicize this tragedy:

FRANK: I hope then that we will be able to find some revenue, I hope from the federal government so that Boston doesn't have to pay for this absolutely necessary expenditure by cutting back on other important services down the line.

ROBERTS: Sir, you keep talking about revenue and infrastructure and the fact that we have the capabilities necessary to respond to something as atrocious as this. Do you feel like you're capitalizing and making political hay of this event that happened?

FRANK: Do I feel what? That I'm capitalizing?

ROBERTS: Well, that you're making a political argument about revenue right now.

FRANK: Yes, exactly. I'm talking common sense. I'm saying that if the sequester had gone through, and we had not had enough money, we couldn't be able to do this.[sic] I think this is an important teaching moment about what we need if we're going to live the way we want to live.

This act of terrorism should not be taken as a "teaching moment" as former congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said for another call to arms to increase Federal programs or Homeland Security forces. Instead, it is a call to all American citizens to guard their own 2nd Amendment rights to bear arms to protect themselves and neighbors. Even when those terrorists planted their IEDs, Improvised Explosive Devices, and ran away, all of the armed police and security officers present who took precautions could not stop the Boston Marathon tragedies.

Here are two other incidents of being armed and ready to defend citizens from terrorism before and after the act.  Many people credit these two arrests to real chance, but luckily both officers noticed their suspicious behavior. They illustrate the fact: We can't ever expect total terrorist protection from our police force or security officers, it's always all up to us for our own protection.

  • 1999 - Al-Qaeda operative Ahmed Ressam was arrested by an armed border patrol officer in Port Angeles, Washington while seen as nervous and overly sweating when attempting to enter the US with components of explosive devices to blow up Los Angeles International Airport. One hundred and thirty pounds of bomb-making chemicals and detonator components are found inside his rental car.
  • 1995 - a 5,000-pound bomb, hidden inside a Ryder truck, was exploded just outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. A few hours later on a routine traffic stop for no license tag, an Oklahoma state trooper chanced to observe a handgun stuck in Timothy McVeigh's waistband under his coat and then held his own weapon to Terrorist Timothy McVeigh's head as he then confiscated the 9-mm Glock that McVeigh was packing, as well as an ammo clip and a knife.

Obama's Private Wars - Stupidity or Ignorance or Both?

Picture edited - Apologies to Mr. Netanyahu for the Obama image.

Say, how did Obama's basic understanding of the Islamic terrorism and war on the United States work out for him lately, like in Benghazi, Libya ....Hmmn? Ya think that Israel trusts Obama to have their back in any upcoming conflicts?

In his United Nations speech on Thursday, September 27 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu drew a red line on an illustration of a bomb with a lit fuse.  Using graphics to give an easy-to-understand picture of the threat he sees, it shows Iran’s atomic program racing as it readies to explode bombs as an Islamic Terrorist country aiming nuclear warheads at Israel.

Again, Obama's huge growing ego fueled by his naive, know-it-all attitude in a not-a-clue reality is sparking more radical Islamic terrorism throughout the world. Showing obvious disdain for Benjamin Netanyahu and the State of Israel, why didn't Obama still meet with any world leaders at the United Nations?  Could it be that he faces an election and did not want any subjects raised that show his incompetence? Is the U.S. being held hostage by Obama's own leadership shortcomings?

Do we need another four years of Obama's brand of his War on Terrorism? - al Queda is weakened and Osama Bin Laden is dead. Obama has missed 60% of his daily Security intelligence briefings that go beyond general newspaper and television coverage. He also lied to Americans about the facts about the 9/11/12 terrorism attack to cover up his deficient understanding of foreign policies in a complicated part of the world.
